I think a 600cc sports bike may have trouble beating a stock viper on a roll. I came across one the other day on the freeway and it seemed pretty quick. We didnt really race since there was too much traffic.

A twin turbo viper will properly yield 1400-1700 HP

The physics work out like this> NEVER DO A ROLL ON WITH ANY 4 WHEELED CRITTER!!!

A bikes main claim to fame is power to weight ratio. So you got mondo power pushing small weight. 1/4 mile from a dead stop and very few cars can touch most stock bikes let alone a built one.

BUT ...

There is a dark side to our 2 wheeled friends ... it's called aerodynamics. Our profile sucks at speed. As soon as almost any 500+ HP car gets going, let's say 60mph +, then our inherent advantage goes away quick.

NEVER roll on with a car or with a turbo anything. You have lost you best weapon.

And for those that still think a bike can out handle a car ... please, that boat sailed loooooong ago

Now for those of you with turbo Busa's ... disregard everything I said. Because while pushing 15# I never met anything that could out accelerate me on that beastie including a TT Lingenfelter

I love how the American idea of speed involves only straight lines. Well, and circles...maybe an oval or two. As if raw torque and power make your ***** larger. No thanks. My weiner's just fine. I prefer a more comprehensive left, right, straightaway combination of challenges to determine ultimate quickness. Like, you know, a circuit course...a Nascar driver's worst nightmare. Oh, and those rally guys, too, that's what it means to be "fast". Straight lines...pfft. : )

There's a guy around here who drives a worked STi that has never lost to a bike, from what I've heard. I've never seen him in person, but I'm told that he typically races from a 30 mph roll. I dunno.

But here's the thing...99% of the cars that insist on racing are owned by kids that have put on all the bolt-ons they can find, and are simply out to measure their d*ck. A sporty car that is truly worked is gonna beat a bike from a roll pretty much every time.

Personally, I have been riding this bike for weeks, and am still very, very easy on the clutch. I'm scared of it. If I pop the clutch on this 929RR, I'm gonna flip it over backward. As a result, I have made up my mind I'm not gonna do any hard starts. I'd like to think I'll get comfortable with the clutch sometime. But maybe not. We'll see.

A car with decent suspension will out handle any bike ever made. It's been proven time and again on the twistiest tracks in existence. 4 wheels, each with more contact patch than both bike tires combined, just has more grip. I'll argue all day that it takes way more skill to ride a bike to it's limit ... whether it be 1/4mile, top end or twisties. But a car just has too many advantages that are in your face to blindly say a bike can corner better or out accelerate

And FYI, NASCAR races a couple circuits these days. Dunno if these courses are opened for track days at other times but I'd love to see what a bike could do on that course.

P.S. I hate NASCAR. The only thing "stock" about those cars is, well, nothing. But they are damn fast.

I hate the idea of "Oh, your 1000000000 hp something or other muscle car can do a quarter mile in .3 seconds?" That's nothing special. Speed is turning, and then turning another way, and repeat. Straight lines are for kids trying to learn to ride a bicycle without training wheels.

The TT Viper GTS could be putting down from 800 - 1000rwhp. No contest on the top end. My stock "08 Viper puts down 555rwhp. From 100mph and up I'll walk a stock liter bike. Including my '08 CBR1000rr.
