making me jealous - I've got a '79 XS650 sitting in the garage waiting for me to find time to work on.

i have a friend who selling his 82 cb750 for $500. i might take it. i like the look of cafe

your project looks great.

cb750 is an amazing bike.
solid engine. heavily modded / parts available.
most of the parts im getting for this cb550 are for a 750 and im modding them its just that much cheaper.

all the cb's just go well together. my problem is finding out exactly which parts change.

youre doing very well so far, keep us posted. i wanna see the finished product.
i had no idea what a cafe is, but googling it and looking at the bikes. that is sweet.
its like an old timey cross between rocket and street fighter. i love it.

sadly, most of the parts / paint / etc im using on the bike are aftermarket.
this means its no longer as original / valuable as before,
however with updated shocks and better technology on the bike (including stronger clipers) its going to be much safer.

hey man, you gotta have a rider's bike. i'd take one that'll go down the road vs one that looks like an antique

I would buy that in a heartbeat!

I let a pristine GS750 slip thru my hands awhile back for cheap.

Have you guys seen the cafes that are being done these days w/ Yami Viragos?...wild stuff.

there's a guy on CF who is converting one to chain drive! he's had to machine half the engine case!.... they're sweet.



did you see the one on cafe racer that b and e boz rode?
