Default 1976 CB550F Cafe Build!

As requested, my new project after the zx6e is the cb550f, revamped with modern parts and cafe'd.

If any of you were wondering, the zx6e's total cost was about 500.00 and she sold for a little over 1000.00. not bad for a beginner 600 if you ask me.

So back to the cb550.
How about some initial pictures?

---
1976 Honda CB550F (Four)

Cost: 450.00 (400 offered, got it carted here + spare parts and new battery and what not for an additional 50 bucks, nice guy) the guy who sold it to me had a new project of his own and had to let it go.

Initial Pictures of when i rolled it in:

CB cafe builds are really popular right now. I remember when you couldn't pay guys to haul away old CBs. Now, they're commanding premium prices just for the old project bike alone...running or not! For 550s, I'm seeing anywhere from $1000-1500, depending on condition.

Good luck w/ your project. Look forward to many updates & the final product.

YUCK! good job on the first two. everything else looks in relatively good condition. what a deal at 400, did you try to turn it over before you bought it?

oh, and what are your plans for it? are you restoring, or actually cafe'ing it? are you going to run modern suspension? how much do you plan on putting into this bike? are you going to be keeping points (for example) or are you going to run a modern ignition rotor? damn i love cafe builds

my build goes like this:
im going black frame and gold features.
the shocks, chain, grips and decals are in gold (and a few other things including the , however the rest is prolly gonna be black/flat

ive got lots of aftermarket parts ive ordered for it, including shocks, an oring chain, clubman bars, ss lines, etc.

im new to cafe's, and i do like the original parts, its just too damn hard to find them in good condition.

as far as unique goes,
the coils were bad, so shes getting cb900 coils,
and possibly cb650 carbs if ebay keeps the price low.

Default Cafe Racers - ohh yes

I'm guessing I'll probably get totally flamed here for daring to post a Gixxer pic but I just love this thing.

A GSXR retroed back to a GS. Totally tasty.

15 minutes with Claudia Schiffer or a year with this thing? Bike wins so easy.
