Default Planning a trip

Hello all,
Me and a buddy are planning on riding from northern Illinois to Charleston Carolina. We have a week to do this so we're not in a hurry and will be going out of our way to get some good riding in and some good site-seeing. Does anyone have suggestion on what we should look into throwing in our route? I believe we will be taking our time to get there and just take a straight route home.

Default No advice on things to see, but...

Once you have some waypoints picked out be sure to spend some time with the maps and find the smaller roads to connect the dots.

Avoid riding the superslab other than those times when you're trying to make up time or "just get there". There is a lot of great stuff to see once you get off the major highways.

Check out the blue ridge parkway in North Carolina, and grandfather mountain also in N.C. Grandfather mountain has Some nice strait up, 180 degree turns. Definitely will get your palms sweaty and heartrate up. It's Sorda like a miniature Swiss Alps.
