i took last friday through monday off work to cruise down to the Charlotte Nascar Speedway for a Vietnam Veteran Welcome Home event that went on last saturday. One day to make it there and Two days to make it back home. it was one of those spur of the moment things and so it was just me and my boss riding.

we did some highway on our way down but on our way back home we decided we were not touching the highway.

and so leaving NC on sunday we were headed towards Hungry Mothers State Park, VA. (rt. 16) highly recommended for really good riding.

crashed for the night in VA and monday morning headed out again. this time heading north towards Berwind Lake Public Park on Co Rd 12/04 then right back on rt. 16 North on the west virginia side through good curvy mountain roads until we hit rt. 119 towards Charleston WV.

after getting to Charleston WV we were too tired to continue skipping highway and still had 2 hours to get home. i had to call it and take the highway home.

got home tired, sleepy and with a dirty bike but at the end of it all, great riding will always be worth it to me...

sounds like a great trip. i live just right outside of beckley, wv. i might have to try that oneday. and great pics.
