Default May 09 Keys Trip

Hey I'm planning on taking a ride down to the Keys in May 09. I'll be coming from Southeast Missouri going through Nashville and on down to Savannah, I plan on taking 95 all the way down to the Keys. I'm sure there will be plenty of things to see and do all the way down. Does anybody want to join us everyones welcome.
Theres just my 929 and a couple of harleys so far.
We figure its going to be a week long ride.

The most important thing I've learned so far is always ride in front of a Harley<YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS GOING FALLOFF OF THEM>

I would try to take a different route. 95 from Savannah all the way to Miami is boring as hell. Unless you like riding straight as an arrow.

Once you hit Jacksonville, you're in for the most boring 6-8 hours of your life. Unfortunately you don't have many other options unless you're willing to pull speed back to 50mph and take even longer.

I think I-75 from Atlanta down through would be better than I-95. I'll let ya know next week. I'm currently setting out on a PA-FL trip tomorrow, riding about 4 hours a day with 1 stop in every state.

In a couple weeks my sister is joining me on her Buell, and we're heading to Key West, from the Ocala area. Looks like some Florida Turnpike. Watch out for the nightly construction in Orlando if you go that way.

Honestly, I think 75 or 95 both stink heading south. I've driven both those highways from your start and end destinations and it will not be pleasant. If you like being cramped, having a sore back, and going straight for long periods of time then those routes are your friend. I've never done it on my bike but in my truck it's boring enough so I can't imagine no comfort, no radio, A/C, etc for that long.

I'm in Raleigh, NC right now. And my back agrees.. I-95 = soreness. There are plenty of side roads that usually run parallel to the interstates. This time of year isn't too bad for the heat. I've found myself cold more often, and wet in Virginia. As for entertainment, I brought the iPod. It keeps me from talking to myself for long periods of time.
