How about the food. Find anything interesting?

Eating local or preferring fare suited to the western palate?

Pho and Bhan Mi shops abound in my neighborhood. Also there's a favorite Vietnamese place I used to go to. Asian, but with a heavy French influence

Enquiring foodies need to know
Smog in Ho Chi Minh City too Matt - and PM me your address and I'll send a postcard

The little Kawasaki was lovely to ride, and when we have a couple of days left in Hanoi after the main motorcycle journey I intend to hire it for a day.

Now Woof, when it comes to food I have that delicate Australian palate. As long as it's not wriggling, or squealing/bleating too much or bleedling too plentifully, I'll give it a chew. However, if the green/veg ratio is above the visual meat percentage, I start to question if it is edible - or food at all - and perhaps someone is trying to feed me a plate of weeds! Love good meat, but draw the line at dog or Guinea Pig.

So, the short answer to you query - I'll direct to Mrs SB

My Dad's a great cook as is my Sister and Mrs SB is a superb cook. My job, I have decided, is to be a great eater

I'll get the girl to write something about the food as I'm a in that respect.

We have only eaten local food since arriving. No western food at all - unless Beer is a food

Cheers, SB

I just thought a quick note about money.

With the strong Aussie dollar, the exchange rate is $1 AUD to $21,300 VND (Vietnamese Dong), so every time I change $50 AUD I'm a millionaire!!

It's no wonder Mrs SB sticks with me

Cheers, SB

So that obviously won't take you very long then. Should I go to bed now and check back tomorrow, or should I just wait?

"Ha Long?"

"Like my Dong!"

"Oh well, that shouldn't be very Long at all, maybe I'll just wait"

Ahhh! Lovely having a captive - if somewhat irreverant - audience TK

You know it's meant in the best possible taste Seb.

Cheers, catch up tomorrow; you have set a new standard in trip reporting mate by doing it on the fly.

I'm pretty sure I can speak for all of us in congratulating you on keeping us all involved and looking forward to your posts.

Isn't modern technology grand?

Just make sure you don't get in the sh1te with your actual family for the time spent keeping up with your other family.
