Racing 2009

That would be cool. All I can say WSBK & WSS has been the most exciting racing so far. AMA SBK is pretty much who will get 2nd & 3rd. MotoGP has been pretty entertaining also. I am gonna put it out there, was Nicky's championship a FLUKE? As I am a loyal Honda fan, I cheered him on each year. Since being the champ, it seems as if he has gone backwards ever since...
Honda's lack of sponsorship could be some of the issues this year in AMA racing. Wonder how it will affect their sales?

I'm a Honda guy, but damn....truth is, Honda has some loyalty issues and it's turning me sour on the company.

Mostly a fluke, I think. Nicky won two races to Rossi's five in '06...only one pole position to five by Rossi that year also. They both had the same amount of podium finishes, I'll give Hayden that much credit...technically third place counts as the podium. : )
Nicky should go race in SBK against Ben and Nori...it's a better series for competition, I think...as long as the Yamaha doesn't run out of gas, geez all friday.

Geesh, you race fans are harsh. I used to be that way too until I started doing trackdays and going to schools. It isn't as easy as it looks. And guess what???The other racers are just as competent too. MotoGP is made up of 23 of the World's BEST. Someone's gotta be 1st and someone's gotta be 23rd; so if I'm #24, where does that put you? (smile)

True, I know they are the top riders in the world, but I want to see a battle to the end. Even in AMA it takes away from the sport I think if one guy just runs away every race. Not to be a spoiler, heard AMA SBK in Cali was a very good race. I have done some track days & am a Beginner. It does take alot to be a PRO. They all get props from me. But also as a fan I wanna see a good race. As for Honda, not sure what their thought process is... I love my CBR 600RR & they represent in WSS, but AMA, Zemke hasn't gotten one podium this year. Whats up with that???

On MotoGP.
I think Hayden will come around. He is obviously out of the championship, but he has struggled a ton with the new Ducati, much more than I though he would. A really bad crash, then getting taken out the very next race in another bad crash when he got azzpacked. His body is hurting for sure. My prediction, top 10 next race, then top 5 within 3 races, barring anything bad happening. I also think the team, while better than Honda was to him, is putting more time and effort in Stoner. Also, Hayden has been dealing with new a tech crew. As soon as they get on the same page, he will do better. No one works harder than Hayden and he will be on the podium again soon.
How about Melandri.... whod'a thunk that one? He did awesome for a team that really doesnt have a lot of support.
Anyone see the crash with Pedrosa? I read a statement by Pedrosa after the fact. He said, "I couldnt believe it.. He just ran right into me. No respect for me at all.. Thats ok, Karma is gonna get him".. All I could think was... "Karma? Im pretty sure you getting that treatment was Karma for you... you little twit"...
On SBK
I think Ben has done awesome. Even with his crashes, if it werent for the mechanical failure and running out of gas, he would still be in the hunt and not in 3rd in the points. But its amazing, tracks that he has never been on, on tires he's never been on, on a bike he's never been on... and he's beating up on one the best in the world. Even if he doesnt place well in the championship, he has proven to the world just how talented he is. Even the anouncers can't believe just how good he is.
As for AMA.
I dont watch it anymore. Not only is it hard to even find, it just sucks. The damage that DMG has done to it has spread fast. Theres just something not right with it. I really dont want to watch it.

Amen, brother. I record it, but haven't had the desire to watch...what's it called now.....the news format show (WTF???)
#29
It's called AMA Pro Primetime, on Speed (you know, like Nascar Live!, or Nascar Today, or Nascar This and That...aargh). Two hours of AMA racing and news. So far I've missed every single one. : ) Since Daytona this year... I just don't see the point. Not with SBK and SS and MGP and Indy and Indy Lights and F1 and GP2 already on the DVR.
No doubt, anyone at any level of racing deserves huge credit. They're the ones living the dream. I just think it's funny how some of their fans give them a little too much credit.
Believe me, I want Hayden on the podium. I bet Valentino does, too. Competition makes the race. You guys wish you'd been around in the 90's when four guys were consistently challenging. Rainey, Schwantz, Doohan, Lawson, Mamola, Gardner...dude it was a free-for-all with big power slides and bar-to-bar passes every round. Plus there was usually a wild card you'd never heard of that might steal a podium spot.
