Predicting what a driver will do.
When it looks like someone might be in a position to turn in front of you, watch their front tires rather than the car. The tires turn before the car moves and it gives you significantly more time to react/avoid.
You can never really know what a cage is going to do, but I always keep track of the cars around me. I'll check my mirrors and glance to my sides too. If I see a red Malibu coming up on my left I'll say "red malibu left" to myself, same with the other side. I'll call out whats around me so I know what cars I should be looking out for.
It saved my butt yesterday too. Had a big Silverado behind me in the far right lane for a few miles, then he switched to the far left. He came up along side me to the point where his front was even with my rear tire and decided to move in to my lane. If I hadn't kept track of where he was there would be no way I could have avoided that nasty situation.

I always assume the driver in front of me is a maniac and has no idea what they are doing. Or just pretend its my girlfriend driving every car on the road. Either way it keeps my cautious.
Some great advice being handed out here. I always try to make note of the car's around me. Especially people with out-of-state license plates, they are the ones that will make the most retarded moves on the road because they are either lost or looking for something.
