Well winter is here and I ride everyday (no car right now) and my mornings have dropped to around 35-/+ degrees everyday now, it gets pretty cold when your riding 20 miles (15 of them at 60mph) So what type of weather is everyone riding in and what are you wearing?

I'm wearing my:
Fulmer helmet
a thin fleece ski mask thing (cavanas I think its called?)
Joe Rocket ballistic jacket
Fleece sweat shirt under that
Bell leather gloves
Thermal undergloves
Jeans (I know, but I don't have the money, I'm slowly buying what I can when I can)
Snowboarding pants (thier thin, water resistant, thermal, and wind resistant, they work great)
Riding boots with long socks (if it drops below 30 again I'm going to wear a second layer of socks though)

This all has kept me warm at 30 degrees and higher, haven't gone below 30 yet though, although I do find cracks in my clothes in cetain postions that just let a jet of cold air to hit one spot which just gets plain annoying and messes with my focus which is bad when riding

So whats everyone wearing and what type of coldweather are you riding in?

thermal pants
jeans
2 pairs socks
and boots
I think one day I rode and it was 29 or so. I to do not have a car.

 

it's get about 40 - 45 for my last 15 miles. I wear Teknic Mesh jacket with liner and sweatshirt, thermal gloves under my gaulet style gloves, long johns and pants. Riding boots and long socks. It's a little chilly, i'll probably go full gear next week.

Oh yeah, cheap *** HJC helmet.

and my regular icon leather riding gloves...their the weak point of my cold gear, their too tight to wear anything underneath and my hands get numb pretty quick, its not good because its hard to use the contols. Other than that im usually pretty warm though my knees get numb too if i dont keep them tucked against the tank out of the wind but even then thats tolerable.

 

underarmor cold gear head to toe and a fleese if its really cold.Oh and my leathers of course lol

 

I hear the leathers are one of the best protections from the cold. I'm thinking about killing two birds with one stone, my need for some leathers and some cold blockage. My only concern is the summer heat, but I'm thinking about vented leathers with Knox Cold Killer gear underneath, similar to the Under Armor but build for motocycling. I've read that the Under Armor is good stuff but because it's not designed for wind protection it still gets quite cold vs. the Knox Cold Killer stuff.

Any thoughts?

 

Buy a pair of those Icon insulated jeans. They are great for cold weather riding. Wind resistant and you could wear your snowboarding pants or any other set of motorcycle riding pants over them.
