riding backpacks

RE: riding backpacks
I have one the R25s from Kriega http://kriega.com/pages_uk/products/prodframeset.html. I used to use a cheap pack, but hated it when it was full. It pushed on the back of my helmet and always made my shoulders sore. This pack was made for riding and dosen't I haven't had any issues with it. Has reflective patches and you can add to it for more capacity if you wish too later. The not cheap, but I definitely think I got my moneys worth. It cinches down to a small size, but had enough room for me to pack enough clothes for a three day trip and my Digitial SLR camera with two lenses.

RE: riding backpacks
If you are looking for just a bag to carry crap a normal back pack from walmart works. But if you want something that has built in helmet storage I recomend either this cortech http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...k--609964.html or this icon bag http://www.kneedraggers.com/details/...-ICON-UTB.html. The icon bag is also a magnetic tank bag, but it wont work with your 03 since it has a plastic cover over the tank. The cortech bag seems to have quite a bit of storage. I dont actually own either of them but i have checked them both out many a time at the store. I just used those links as references, there are cheaper sites out there then kneedraggers. Hope that helps

RE: riding backpacks
i use a regular backpack and it works fine. here's a tip though that i wonder if anybody else noticed: when i first got my bike i would finish riding and notice my bag was open. this would continually happen, and i began to wonder how i could be so forgetful to zip up my bag. lo and behold, i figured out that my bag was opening by itself when flapping in the wind on my back. so, now i always zip all my zippers all the way to one side and that solved the problem.
has this happened to any of you guys?

Yea, I've it happen a couple times before I figured it out. Luckly I never lost anything because of it. I have just bought a Nike Epic backpack. I haven't had a chance to try it out on the bike but it seems very comfortable just wearing it in the house. It is simi hard shell. It is made with a hard ectoskeleton. It is a very cool looking backpack and has a lot of storage. One problem is that Nike hasn't made it for about four years. I foundmine oneBay.
