i have a hjc helmet and it has the oem vinyl graphics but its like plastic its very thick because i have a chip that is to the shell. i paint helmets and cars but never one of these helmets. can i just sand it with a D/A and paint it like any other helmet? Or does this stuff dont sand?

I wouldn't recommend sanding ANY helmet. Any little nicks and scratches (which sanding basically creates MILLIONS of) compromise the intergrity of the shell of the helmet, potentially rendering it useless in the event of a crash.

yeah well tons of people get there helmets painted. but if you buy a helmet and just use a scuff pad instead of sandpaper. it might put scratches, but thats like saying if you get a scratch or a nick in your dirtbike helmet and street helmet, then they are junk. I've rode bikes for a long time now and my helmets have always been fine and work when I hit ****. but i understand what your trying to get at. but has anyone else ever sanded the oem graphics off, or scuff it and paint over it?
