Default New leather treatment or hype?

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about the “TFL Cool” treatment on leather? Does it really work and will such treatment have any effects on the longevity of the jacket? Or is it just hype / bull?

I’m Maltese and usually have to lose the proper bike textile-jacket by end-March for morning rides since the heat becomes unbearable by 10am.

Thanks a million

Never heard of it, but if you're losing your textile by 10 AM (I'm assuming you go jacketless then) then I kinda doubt it will give you what you want. All that TFL seems to be claiming is that their treated dark jackets will run as cool as light colored jackets. Why not just buy a light colored jacket instead, preferrably a perforated leather which will allow air to flow through as long as you're moving. I've attached a picture of one, not to endorse it but just to show that they do exist. This jacket will probably run a fair amount cooler than the one you linked to. Alternatively, get a mesh jacket, which is certainly better than riding in a T-shirt but which feels almost the same as riding in a T-shirt.
