Default Mesh vs textile?

They sound the same, but I've found these two that seem different. For those of you that will tell me to go leather, I have a leather jacket, I'm looking for something that will protect me and keep me cool for those hot days.

mesh: http://www.joerocket.com/productH.cfm?products_id=2917

textile: http://www.joerocket.com/productH.cfm?products_id=2918

What you see are the options that I have. Style and all. I think I like the textile more because it is more subtle (my style) and it looks like it is more durable. Tell me what you think!

mesh is nuttin but nylon holding armor/pads in place. Textile is the better of these two. Neither are close to being as good as leather tho. Thought about perforated leather?

Yes I do. I have a Joe Rocket fully perforated leather jacket, and a Teknic jacket which has the front perforated. Now I wont lie, when stopped in the summer time its till hot as hell, but so is textile. But while you are riding it is fine. And knowing the leather isnt gonna shread away in the event of a crash is reassuring too.

Check out the Alter-ego Joe Rocket jackets too, they unzip apart when it gets real hot out. I just bought a leather jacket with the Variable Flow system, and it got to 80 today and wasn't too bad. Check out www.newenough.comfor some deals on stuff, shipping is super fast too.

I've got a partially perforated leather from firstgear and a mesh from fieldsheer. The mesh is good for those days when it's so hot you'll be tempted to ride only with a t-shirt on. As long as you keep moving, it will feel almost like you're riding with a t-shirt on. I can't say the same for perforated leather.
