Anyone own this helmet? if so, if you turn your head on the highway to look back has your shield popped up? I have had this happen a few times---------freaky!! I do not know if I can Jerry rig it to not do this or if I can just replace a part. I have a clear shield and want to buy another smoked one but I need to resolve my lid problem first. Iwas thinking of some thin foam or something to wedge in there to make it tighter. The real question goes back to you cl-12 owners. Is it just the way it is or can do anything about it? Thanks

 

It's the way it is. I got mine as a gift so I never complain about it at home but it bugs the crap out of me. It gets worse the longer you have it so I am looking for another helmet. I've added a dark screen but I have not figured out a way to secure it without looking gay. During my track days I just tape it. If you come up with something else PM me; PLEASE.

 

RE: Mad ----I got mine of Craigs list for 20.00 so I cannot complain too much.It is in awesome condition.(other than the highway SURPRISE) It smokes my originalthh that came with my bike, foggy,sweaty, no air flow garbage helmet. I am determined to resolve this though.I'll let you know what I come up with and if it works I will send you a pic

Gotta love the tape. Have a guy that i work with that uses 4-5 inch wide tape on his helmet, visor no longer moves but he is happy. The helmet is covered with so much tape, you cant even notice it if you dont look close.

 

I own the CL12 and have never had it pop up on my, ever. Interesting problems you guys are having. Mine has a thumb lock on the side.

 

I own the same helmet also. i have never had that problem either. and if you do dosent the lock on the visor work?

OK demonchild I was soooooooooo confused. I looked at my lid for like 3 minutes thinking " where is the lock and where does my thumb go?" LOL It did it again at like 65 mph. I emailed the dood I bought it from and he said it only happened to him at 160 mph and he was surprised that it did it at 65 mph. I will try to come up with somthing. it is in fact the HJC CL-12 and I want to buy a smoked visor but I need to resolve this problem first. Any more takers on this one?????????????????
