Helmets
In the market for a new helmet, dont want to break the bank, so id like to keep under $500 tax in total etc. Num 1 choice thus far is Shoei TZ-R Tempest, love the look, cheapest i found was from www.helmetcity.com @ $375.29 w extra visor and breath gaurd total to my door shipped is $451. Id love to get an Arai, but there $100 more at the very least. The Suomy Ventura Red is a lot cheaper @ $299 visor and breath gaurd are incl, the Suomy helmets are light! not sure if there quite as light as the Arai's but def light at 1250g, while the Tempest is @ 1510g. Anybody here have one of these helmets??? comments? im leaning towards the Tempest.
Thx

If you're a Medium or X-Large, here's your Ventura for $125 and free shipping...
And check these guys out for Shoei deals
Or just get the all-time Shoei X-11 deal of the century
And yes, an Arai can be had for less money...

According to their shipping FAQ, they do ship to Canada, for $30. And the listing for the Rainey is even cheaper on their main store page than for the ebay listing...

I would just shoot them an email and find out what the total cost would be...they're nice, I'm sure they'll help. Think of it...an X-11...that's just sick in all the right ways...

Thxs, i emailed em for info, ya a Rainey for that price is sick any way you look at it!
we'll see what happens? BTW i have an important question RE helmets while on the topic.
Does anyone know about viewing holes for different helemets, as this would affect perifheral vision. My bro who rides a Busa and has been riding for about 20yrs had mentioned this. Not saying hes right or wrong, just a good point imo. End of the day i want the most protection for my head, so odds are ill sacrifice a bit of peripheral for a stronger shell etc.
"i find all the higher priced helmets Shoei,Arias and are meant more for the track. Meaning the helmet is stronger in case of higher speed accidents and that is the reason they all have a small viewing area. (Smaller the view hole, stronger the helmet.). Let’s face the facts when you are on a track all you care about is what is in front of you. The HJC, Shark other helmets allow a larger viewing area ( weaker helmet) and is in my opinion the more peripheral vision you have on a bike in and around town is the heaviest weighing option for me. Cars kill you and on the track there no cars. That’s why they have a smaller view hole.
In short the more you’ll see the better you’ll be."
