Awesome. The info I was looking for. Where did you all get your stuff and what did you pay (if you don't mind me asking)?

Thanks
Thom

my boots from motorcycle superstore. got them a few days after i ordered them, with the standard shipping. came out to 101 bucks after shipping and taxes.

all the other stuff was order by the shop i bought the bike from, house of power motorcycles.

shoei x-11 - $570
two bro's m-2h slip on - 450
joe rocket honda jacket - 150
pc III - 250

about those figures, i got them for what the shop would pay plus a couple bucks

ORIGINAL: NINE2NINE

i have one of these backpacks. click here. yes, it is expensive but it's much cheaper than the laptop that you're putting into it. i use it every couple of weeks when i ride to work and need my laptop for a meeting or whatever.
Sweet backpack!!!

I don't have a laptop, but if I did and needed to haul it around (safely) on my bike.....that'd be the one!

I had an Icon Squad and had some issues with it. don't get me wrong it's a nice pack especially when you find the sweet spot to place it on your back.

here are the issues i had with it:

1. it is heavy. the helmet pocket adds considerable weight to the pack. i now have an alpinestars pack and with my laptop weighs slightly less than the squad.
2. stitching not the greatest. i used the pack regularly for a couple of months and the stitching on the front zipper started coming undone.
3. no strap holders. on the shoulder straps there aren't any holders for the excess length. when i ride fast on the freeway they would slap my helmet. it made for some irritating riding. i had to tie it around the main strap harness so it wouldn't flap around.

Very interesting write up. I love this site and the community that is here.

About the alpinestar. Do you have the laptop pocket dimensions?

I don't have them handy but you can go to www.alpinestars.com and get the dimensions there. By the looks of it though you can put 2 laptops. You can put one in the big pocket on the inside of the main compartment and the other on the back compartment. Hope that makes sense. LOL

I have super duty boots too. Sizing-wise they are very similar to Nike. All Nike stuff is about 1/2 size too big for me, the boots were the same. They are pretty comfortable, they are a little wide inside maybe, but lots of protection and you get away wearing them with jeans without getting a lot of funny looks. I've worn them to work a couple of times when I've ridden to work.
