Hey, to whoever gets to see this! I'm a new member, as of today, and I'm looking for a new box for my 04.

4th gear decided to disintegrate at just over 11,000 miles on my recently purchased blade, and Honda want over 2k just on parts!

So I'm looking for a decent used, (or new if at a good enough price) gearbox. All replies are appreciated.

Hey Wolf, welcome to the forum.

Replacing or fixing, the engine has to come out. When you say $2k, is that dealer price?

When its out, I'd split the case and take a look. Maybe try RONAYERS (LINK), gotta be cheaper fixing what you got.

engine won't need to be dropped as it's a cassette style box, that price was from my local dealer for parts only.

Apparently they dont sell the whole assembly, so have to price each part, washer ect separately. It's ridiculous, And more expensive than most racing boxes!

Also, it's only a 4th issue, and from the symptoms it feels like worn dogs. My mechanic (Honda specialist but not a dealer) suggests grabbing another box, second hand. And a replacement is only 3 hours of his Labour, so pretty light on my wallet. Just can't find any decent boxes! (I'm in the UK)
