Sprayed the headers
Put them back on with replacement nuts
Putting everything back together for a few weeks to test run and make sure that everything is in order
Attempted to bleed the brakes, however i was unsuccesful, tried many things. Changed the brake resevoir from the old ragedy plastic one to an aluminium one from the CBR600. Attempted to bleed it again, still no luck. Eventually I took the calipers off, pushed the pistons in and out a few times, and voila managed to bleed it.
Hopefully after some saving will be able to order the new fairing kit, and then some personilization bits - Heel guards, new grips, new screen and pegs etc.

Man what a beautiful bike! Small displacement = high fun factor I have to ask, what brand of paint are you using on the header? I've heard of methods of slowly heating them before starting the engine so you can gradually bake on the paint. Are you doing that or just rolling with it?
On previous occasions it peeled of when I just spraye don and ran it as is.

Looks like you're doing a very thorough job! Bike's looking great! Never had the chance to ride a 400, we don't have them here, or we do but they don't sell much cause ppl go for 600 and restrict them to 25kw until they get full license and remove the restrictors. would be fun to some day test one. Just gave the thread a quick onceover but missed the part why do you need new fairings, from the pics I see nutting wrong with the current ones.

Hi Mattson,
You cant see from the pics, but previous owner fell with the bike, so its patched here and there. PLastic welded and fibreglassed. Its missing a few panels here and there and the ducts are missing too.
Thats one o the reasons, the other is that I want to personalize it to how I would like it. I dont like riding past someone with the same looking bike. Its just a personal preference. So it was going to either be a spray job, or new fairings, and the cost differnce between the two is minimal, so it just makes sense to replace em.

So I have been offline for a bit as, my car needed some attention, got pissed with it and bought a new one, so no need for car worries any longer..
The headlight bracket on the bike needed replacing, so I bought a new one, removed the dials which were cable tied/zip tied on. Now for the life of me cant see or figure out how the dials fit to the new bracket.
Could someone please assist, its mind boggling, I thought maybe i'm missing a bracket or something
