Default Your opinion is needed!!!!

So this summer I am going to get a new bike and I want everyones opinion on what to do. So im looking to upgrade to a 1000cc and was wondering what everyone thought was the best liter bike all around. Now i know im asking this on a honda forum and i am bias toward honda too but please be as straight as possible since i greatly value opinions on here. What is the best as far as riding position, all around power(low/high rpm), braking, cornering, suspension, etc..... I know its different for everyone, I have an 02 F4i and its been my first bike so thats all i have to compare it to. Don't worry Im keeping my F4i, I cant bring myself to get rid of it I love it too much. Thanks in advance. PS I love the new CBR 1000RR in red white and blue!

Best liter bike.....IMO...S1000RR.
But I'd get a Honda, I'm a Honda guy.
Gsxr 1000s and the R1s are really good too. They are all so close and really fast, too fast to use anywhere really. Go sit on them all and see which is comfortable to you and which calls to you.

i honestly wouldnt even look at honda for a 1000 up until the 2012s came out which im a big fan of. For some reason the only cbr liter bikes ive liked are the rc51, 954, and the 2012s. I never rode them but the 1000rr just never really interested me until now. I think most people will agree about the bmw being the best out there but for about 4-5k less you could get the new zx10 which is almost just as good but unfortunately i think its butt ugly and cant compare to the s1000rr in that department. but yeah you just have to go look at them and see which one you like the best and is the most comfortable for you.

As a s1000rr owner, I think people drastically over-estimate the price of them. With just ABS , msrp is $15,050. With all the options, I've been seeing people get them for around $16.5k otd.

Honest opinion, the BMW s1000rr is probably the best of the liters. I couldn't put it into words till I read a shootout review of all the liters. One of the test riders said he liked the duality of it. And it's true, the BMW has multiple personalities. She's powerful at any rpm. But Yolie turns into the beast everyone talks about above 10k rpm. She even sounds different.

That said, my second choice would prolly be the.... CBR. I havent ridden one myself but pretty much every review I've seen speaks highly of the low - mid range torque and the smoothness. That the lack of traction control isn't a negative because it isn't necessary. And that its rideability is very confidence inspiring, especially when cornering, making it an excellent entry level liter bike.

Just remember though, I own the BMW. She'll twist your mind while she warps space and time

Well you said it best when you said everyone is different! It's all about comfort. I had a 2004 F4i and I was fine with it. When I sold it, I couldn't stand not having a bike, so I bought a 2008 GSX-R. Looking back at the F4i, I now feel like it was too bulky and huge for me (standing at 5'2").

As the 1K is a more costly bike, keep in mind the insurance cost. In NJ, the 1K is rated differently and almost doubles in premiums.

My best advice is sit on a few bikes, test them if you can, and make your decision. Good luck.

Thanks for the input guys, I know its hard to give advice on this topic but i do appreciate all the advice. I think Im going to go with the CBR(red white and blue) since its a few thousand less than the BMW plus Hondas are awesome bikes! Ill post pics when i get the bike, should be in a week or two.
