Default What do you think of a VFR800 Interceptor?

Folks,
I just looked at a used Interceptor VFR 800 for sale and it's tempting. It has 12,000 miles, looked really clean, all stock parts, no scratches. Cost $5800. Is it worth it or keep looking for something else. Initially wanted a CBR but there's none for sale here in El Paso.

What do you think??

Help.
Ready to ride again.

i rode one of those once. They are nice bikes and were fun. . . not too cruiserish and not too sports, but just see what you want most.

those bikes look really sweet.my buddy has an 05 model, pearl white.its really comfy riding too.the only thing i dont like is that you can feel the valves when they open up. meaning it isnt a smooth power curve like the cbr600,nevertheless great looking bike

What year?????

I have an '01 and love it. '99 - '01 have the gear driven cams which are to die for. The '98 - '99 didn't have a catalatic converter and I believe the pipes are a tad bigger. Great for conversions on the '00 - up versions for more power.

Yes the '02 - '06 vTec models do suffer from the bad engagement. Its at 7k rpms. With a Power Commander III you can get a map that'll help a lot with it.

Honda has worked on the vtec on the '07 models which now turns on at 6500-6700 rpms and is smoother. If I could find one at a dealership I'd test ride one, but all people sell is cbr's.

+1 to the VFR. I've ridden a couple different years. You can lean em right over.

I've had a '97 VFR (loved it) and now have an '03 (love it too) Goes well with the cbr's

I've even tracked the big VFR a few times with nice results...

You wont go wrong buying a VFR. I dont think i've ever met anyone that owned one that didn't love it.
