Ninja 500?
Long story short my friend bought a 2006 ninja 500 with 1,000 mile(its been dropped to hell between him and the previous owner). His parents wont let him keep the bike so right now it is in my garage.
Well I can get the bike for $2,000 easily, think its worth it? Are they good for anything?

good solid bike, fair machine, but not NEARLY as fast as the CBRs are. I had one for my first bike, they're tough to kill, and quite stable. need to be fuel injected though, and have a better designed airbox IMO.
Even though I am a kawi fan, at best I can say the 500 is a fine commuter bike with a durable engine. The chassis in stock trim is not up to hard riding....some guys "made them work" for lightweight racing....heck,most of the bikes in that class weren't sport bikes to start with...then the SV650 came out. You can make them fast, but its pointlesssinceless money would get you a 600...IMHO.
if youare looking for a cheap set of wheels to rack miles on to commute to work or whatever, it will do that and never complain...but don;t ask more of it than that.
