Default Mikuni BS30 Question

Hello room! I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on a Mikuni problem I've got.
Never worked on the BS30 before - got a really goopy set and I want to get the emulsion tubes out. I think some people call it the needle sleeve. IF I don't get this out it will make the bike run like crap - seriously the inside of these carbs look like Dracula was running it on the thick red stuff! I don't want to damage them because they're hard to find and expensive... any experts want to weigh in? All I can see is a slot in the side of the tube, and a pin from teh side to keep it from rotating. Looks like brass or copper. Do I have to drill that pin? I'm getting nowhere looking for instructions online.

Thanks!

Default They come out the top.

The pilot/needle jets/emulsion tubes come out the top, through the carb throat and the slide tower. In case anybody has this question. Mine were really stuck so I tapped them out with a piece of wood and a hammer.
