New (old) Classic added to the stable -- a Viffer
My new daily driver -- a 1986 VFR750F Interceptor:
I haven't seen one of these on the road in the old red white and blue colours in 20 years or so -- how could I possibly pass it up? Needs a tuneup and valve adjustment but overall in pretty decent shape for a 25 year old bike with 112,000 km. But hey, with gear driven cams 112K is just nicely broken in I'm in love already, power is pretty decent and even with worn out squared off tires it's very nimble. Feels more like a Ninja 250 than a full size bike, except for the throttle
Now that I have another running bike I can start tearing down the Blackbird for its upgrade: ZX-14 front end, 4-into-1 exhaust, Factory Pro jet kit and ignition advance, -1 front sprocket (from another VFR, so it has the rubber damper like the original XX sprocket), new rear tire and new wheel bearings, SS brake and clutch lines, throttle lock, clear signal lenses . . . probably some other stuff I'm forgetting right now I might even start fixing the rashed-up bodywork if I have time. Or not, I kind of like having an uber-beater bike.
