I love my F3, but she didn't age very well this winter. I'm getting an itch to move up slightly. Something newer, at least...love the '08 CBR 1000R but my skills and finances aren't ready for that, and I never quite fell in love with the current crop of CBR 600s. I might be able to get a good deal on a '03 636, and i was wondering if anyone has made a horizontal move from Honda 600 to Kawasaki 600, and has some experiences from it to share. More or less reliable/durable as Honda? Any comments are appreciated.

 

I have never owned or ridden one, but every Kawasaki owner I know swears by them.

 

My riding partner has an 03 636 and loves it. I've ridden it a handful of times and am quite impressed with it, other than the terrible green color. I have a 98 F3 that has been well cared for and has a handful of aftermarket goodies, but his bike is in a different realm completely. The fuel injection provides a completely different acceleration curve. When he's really on it he has to ride the rear break to keep the front end down going from 2nd to 3rd. I have to admit, if one was available at a decent price I would consider it. Just my two cents.

 

The F3 weighs about 85lbs more and has about 20 less HP. I know a guy that owns one and is very cocky! What I wouldn't give to smoke him, but it's not going to happen on my F3. I think that Kawi makes a great product and I would totally own one!
