The 08 250R is a sweet looking bike and would be good for day to day use if you don't mind being seen on a 250. The 250 is going to feel like a bycycle compared to you 1K, but as long as you keep in mind that it's just a work bike then you will be ok. If it was not for the insureance I was thinking about adding one to the fleet as well. The green is just awesome looking. I just wish they would have added FI to the 08.

IF i would have gone for a 250 cc, i would've waited for the new Yamaha coming out. Yamaha > Kawasaki under 600 cc.
But honestly i'd never go for a 250, way too small, boring in the end...

It's not the one you ride for excitement. It's the one you ride for the savings. You pull the CBR out on the weekends to go on the twisties.

I'd say buy an old CBR over buying a 250 CC, they go down fast quite hard in their prices, and you cant drive 150.000 with a 250 CC, you can with a 600 (from honda or yamaha)

The european model has FI and water temp gauge. The US/Canadian model is Carbed and has a gas guage instead of temp. Just an idiot light.
It might very well be possible to find the parts on ebay or something after some european guy has wrecked his bike. Just get all the parts needed to swap to FI.

Well I have not been on a Ninja250 in years, but it looks like this weekend I will be on an 07 250-last year for the old style. A girl I know has one and did not ride it much at all because she is scared to ride. Well it sat to long and the carbs got varnished up so she hauled it to the deal and now it all fixed, but she will not ride it the 12 miles home-so I have to. As I recall they are not a bad riding bike, but I am not to happy about being seen on it.
I know the 08 has better wheels, tires and exhaust, but over all it's the same bike. I will let you know what I think of it once I ride it. I have a feeling it's going to make my old F4 feel like a jet LOL!
