Hey all,
Here is the sprocket with its new buddy. Name: 269.jpg
Views: 30
Size: 133.5 KB

Got to clean it up a bit and take it to the Pacific. Going to start up a sprocket in ever state and even out side the US. If we can do it. It would be cool to see this one go International. To bad mine isn't aluminum so it wouldn't rust but o well. I am going to keep the one i got and have it clean by a pro and painted just don't know how or what yet. Any suggestions from the originator? The one from the east coast has some rust on it from sitting in the rain and cold. Give me a day to rest as i got a bit of saddle rash from the 2500 mile trip. Pics will be coming soon.

Kudos drunkinmist! O - U - T - S - T - A - N - D - I - N - G !!!! What was your mileage?

I have a suggestion for your sprocket... Bead blasting it will make it look like new. Then acid etch or engrave & clear coat.

As for more sprocket challenge... Myself & a couple other members talked about starting a West-to-East Coast Challenge a few months back but decided to hold off to see if the current sprocket challenge would make it to the coast this year. Looks like now, we can seriously consider making this a reality. Of course, any west coast challenge would have to make a stop at The Rock Store near LA.

Again, amazing job drunkinmist! Looking forward to more posts.

Awesome job with that sprocket! I recently replaced my sprocket and live in fort lauderdale. I was thinking of placing it at the southern most point in keywest and se if we can get it up to north east us

Sorry cb2 no way i am sending that thing all the way back. I have another sprocket i can start No problem. Do we want to make it a West to east or a in every state? I am going to take it there tomorrow, both sprockets. How did you stamp your names in it?

My vote is for a West-to-East...& whatever states it visits is anyone's guess & all the more surprise & fun.

Sears has quite a few engraving tools. Dremel has an attachement that works w/a steady hand as well.

...So if you don't send it back east, what will become of the CBRForum sprocket?

Malbo and I bought a metal stamp set at Harbor Freight for $8. Tip: sprocket is hardened around the teeth and difficult to stamp.

I am going to have some one professional clean it up and paint it. The sprocket is going to be like my prize for the distance and fuel i spent to get it.
Weather not working for me today so i will try for tomorrow. Damn rain.

I will take the new sprocket with me and start the new West to East coast challenge. As of next week i will be in Korea. and not able to do much with my bike.
