Wow, Eye Opener.....
Well, that's the thing... Americans are NOT becoming trained in higher skilled jobs. I'm not talking about customer service phone help here. I'm talking about medicine, engineering, and basically all sciences in general.
I saw a stat somewhere (I'll post my source as soon as I find it) that, in the United States,there are more college degrees earned for fine arts than there are for science and engineering. Great, so we'll be hella good at painting or playing the violin, but when it comes to high technology we're screwed. A lot of the "new" technology that the US is getting is not new at all. We've been importing it from overseas.
My point is that America used to be a leader in innovation. Now it seems we're happy with buying the technology from foreigners. How can that be good for us?
