Seriously, I'd like to see the sources for some of that information. Still an eye-opener, as I'm sure a lot of info in that vid is halfway accurate. I liked the music too (from the soundtrack of Last of the Mohicans).
I recommend reading a book called The World is Flat (A Brief History of the 21st Century) by Thomas L. Friedman. It's an ENTIRE book that explains how China and India in particular are taking many of American jobs due to outsourcing. It also explains how broadband connectivity is essentially leveling the playing field between poorer countries and the Western World.
It's not that Americans are lazy (well, we are). It's just that people in places like India and China see how we live. Now, they have access to cheap technology that allows them to get an education and get a great American-style job without coming to America. They are tired of being poor and are willing to do whatever it takes to "live like Americans." Sad thing is, poor people in this country are happy living in the ghettos and trailer parks and slinging drugs and drinking Miller High Life instead of trying to work hard to get out of their slump.

Most of that is the younger generation, the older ones don't care and don't consider the standards here as desirable and don't consider working all the time for better things as necessarily a higher standard of living. Friedman's follow up to that also went into further detail showing how the export of jobs actually helps both countries and is not as one sided as many are led to believe. By outsourcing the less desirable jobs, it helps them but also forces the population of the more developed country doing the outsourcing to become better trained and educated at higher skill jobs as happened throughout the 70's and 80's.
