winter tires?

Default winter tires?
some have mentioned that tires dont war up enough in the cold to grip. has anyone ever tried a soft race compound tire for the winter, then switched back for warmer months?

I dont think so, race tires are very sensitive to temperature so I think they will basically suck worst on winter conditions. Talking out of my *** as usual, as I havent tried it LOL.
