+1 on the Wii sports and Mario kart. We also have Olympic Games, and Carnival Games. Lots of fun.

 

Well Wii sports comes with the Wii, so you are set there. As mentioned Mario cart is the ****!! You will probably be taking the controler away from your kid to play your self, so might want to get a couple extra controlers.

Super Mario Galaxy is a fun game. And I personally enjoy and of the LEGO themed games, ie Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars ect ect.

EDIT: Just remembered. Wii Play is EXCELLENT! its basically and addition to Wii sports, but it comes with a controler, and its only like 50 bucks. So a game and a remote for 50 bucks, cant beat that.

 

Mario Cart hands down.

 

My two girls are nine and six, they play all kinds of Wii games from Need for speed Carbon, Lara Croft Anyversary edition, to Bratz, mario cart, they even play Call of duty...

And they are good at it...
