What would you do?

What would you do?
I have a group of guys that ride together, and we've started getting a little formal to include a name, monthly meetings, scheduled group rides, elected officers, etc. Anyway, we are working on a website, but don't want to pay the set up fees and hundreds of dollars per page. One of our guys works at motocycle-superstore locally. The guy that runs the website for that company had offered to help us with the website, and is dying to join, but there is one problem...he rides a scooter. Now, I don't want to be a dick, but...a scooter?!? It's 600 cc's and cost him about $6000, but...A SCOOTER?!? What do you guys think, because I would say no, if nothing else but for the fact that he can't corner with us (I don't think), and would get left behind alot. Am I being a dick (yeah, like that doesn't leave me wide open [&:])?

hudreds of dollars per page? I'd look at 1&1 Hosting (1and1.com), they seem to have the most reasonable hosting rates.
as for the whole scooter thing, if he can afford to blow 6 grand on a flippin scooter then let him hang with the group for awhile. When all the other guys rip on him for it, he'll probably step up and put on his big boy pants. Problem Solved.

Do you visit the PNWriders.com site? They have a Oregon section. Maybe you guys can just take over the southern Oregon section. Or try to create your own section?
As far as the scooter goes. I dont have an answer for you. That is a tough situation. Just like fat chicks, their cool until your friendscatch you with them.

Yeah, I've been on there. I am not overly excited about it, though. I know some of the "O Riders" and they ride like they got hell hounds on their trail. We are trying to promote safety and have a group that new riders feel comfortable joining. I don't think that would be a good site for us.

We were looking into having it done professionally for us, but we may have to do some kind of plug and play/hosting deal.

Voodoo, no matter who you have create your site, you are gonna have to host it somewhere....as well as register a domain. Depending on what you want to do, I may be able to help you out.

Ah, rrasco probably has a point about the design stuff costing hundreds of dollars, I feel like an idiot.
interesting point I just thought of, if he rode a ninja 250, which is practically a scooter, would you let him ride? I'm with vpsophmore, if he's cool, he's down, all there is to it.
