I called my local Honda Stealership to see what their view was on it, and they said...... AHEM... "It is to reduce the heat from the air(hot air) coming into the airbox, so you draw more cooler air, thus having more HP, Like a cold air intake, but for YOUR motorcycle!"

Fun fact, the F4i uses the left headlight (sitting on the bike) as the running light, but the 09-current (possibly 03-current) 600rr uses the right headlight.

I know the 05-06 Kawi zx-6r uses 1 headlight.

Honda rc-51 uses 1 headlight.

03-05 Yami r6 (and current gen r6s') use 1 headlight.

'10 (current gen/possibly all) Truimph Daytona 675's use both headlights as running lights.

So...true...I'm more of a early rider...I ride every weekend from 8am to 10am...On the cold days...my bike just feel so much stronger! Sound crisp!!! But when I do ride during afternoon...on hot days, bike seem to work much harder & don't feel so crisp..it's such a big difference with cold air. Or is it just my conscious???

Cool air does produce more horsepower. I can't believe the amount of heat generated by the headlight will have any significant effect on the temperature or power produced. That was a tongue in cheek answer if I ever heard one. LOL

Cool air = Rapid respond in HP...bike just feel much more crisp & sweet to ride. This could of been one of HONDA's R & D purpose...dual head light mistaken for a car is also very true....left light gang? May true in some part of the states but maybe not entire US...I was thinking...is it against the law to shut off both headlight? I understand factory makes then automatic on when key is on?
