Just so I'm clear, is pitsvtec the gal in the picture above? Either way, I wish I had an F4i. Carbs suck.

I guess to show my age... I knew the CB title. I had forgotten it until I was ready this, but technically, the first street bike I rode was a 71 CB175. It didn't see much street time, I was around 9 0r 10 years old. It was a left over bike in my garage growing up after my parents divorced. My brother and I rode it on back roads and trail riding... hell we even tried taking it off some sweet jumps (did you catch the quote). The CB 175 went back all the way to 68.

Thank you. As previously stated, I learned it from reading and all the responses I saw made me question my post. I asked a friend who works at Honda and he said it mean nothing. It was a model name and the R was added for racing.
Since I'm from Japan, I did some research on this.
One theory is CB came from Clubman, a motorcycle made by Honda, but took C and B of CluB as we Japanease don't know how to speak or read English.
Second theory, the one I like, goes that in old days Honda used one letter code for different products. Like A, B, C. C was used exclusively for motorcycles for unknown reason. C70 was one of known model. But soon they found it inconvenient and started using two letter coding. Later there was CS for sport type, CA for export model to America. CB came after CA as naturally the next letter in alphabet for domestic models. There we go, the CB's. This is probably the most likely theory now.
By the way I'm sort of new to this forum. How can I join any ride group in Malibu area??? I have F4i and love going thorough canyons!
