You tried to lean and the bike did nothing. Because you didn't use countersteer. Countersteer and target fixation (looking where you don't want to go will make you go there-look where you want to go) are both fundamental knowledgeof safe riding.
I'm not gonna explain what exactly they are because you owe it to yourself to do some reading in your downtime - there is plenty of material available on the net, "Twist Of The Wrist" volume 1 & 2 is a great place to start.
The important thing is your safe and alive - now focus on studying that bike so when you get back on hopefully you don't make the same mistakes.

Hey man if you haven't already looked into it you might take a MSF safety course. Your local dealer should know where the nearest one is. They really help. Once you think about wrecking in a curve your screwed. Always look for your exit cause thats where your going. Look to the ditch you go to the ditch. Hope you feel better man. Your one step above alot of people you had gear on.

So i got my phone working good again and got the pics off them just to warn you one is some what graphic so if you don't like blood don't look at the on labeled knee graphic.
Once i get my bike back into riding condition and knee heals up planning on takeing the class.

always heard ladies love scars, but you might be able to test it with that one. ouch. Might by some dragon jeans as well. If you don't know they got kevlar on the inside of the knees and your *** for those long slides down that empty highway supposed to hold up much better.
