All I'm saying is this kind of thing almost never happens without some kind of initial incident. Not that it's justified, but even the neanderthals don't just walk up and beat the ever-living shyte out of some completely random dude at the drop of a hat, let alone a gang of em. Did you buy someone's girl a drink? Bump into him too hard in passing? Open your car door into his pickup truck? Call his dog ugly? They don't like your stepdad and took it out on you?

I'm sure there's more to the story... just curious.

havent gotten the permit yet. just keep it in a holster in the car most times(not considered concealed if its in a holster loophole), and if i do have it on me just enough is open to keep me legal(ish).

(sidenote: did you hear theyre trying to push a bill through the az legislature to remove the need for a permit to carry concealed....anyone could to it.)

I went to school in southern Illinois (SIU-Edwardsville). Its getting a bit more modern down there now, but when I first started I don't think they knew what street lights were. Those rundown bars that look like they are time warped straight from the old west do exist. Don't get me started on friggin Litchfield, Illinois....

yes im very close to litchfield so you kind of know what kind of place im talkn about. but i agree with cbr classic. im just going to let this one fizzle out. i have young kids and dont need to be getting in bar room scuffles any more like im in my early 20's. my shinners about gone. and i know that one fella still has a slit on his nose so im good. i played with my kids after work. went out to the garage and started preping my plastics for paint. drank a couple cold beers. and a few mins. on cbr forum before bed is a much bettter evening than going to a crap hole bar like the one down the road anyway. 2.50 beers are nuts anyway. peace out guys. im going to bed and im gonna drop out of this thread for good. and leave it in the past.

Let it go for now ..........and get some real training in KM ([URL="http://www.kravmaga-clubs.com/kravmagaillinois.html"]Krav Maga/URL])
The outcome would be very different next time around

Any of the basic defence programmes are useful, even when your arms are pinned.
You still have your head and both legs to "respond" with, and I know at least 5 guys who would tell you that your head and legs is all you'd need.................

I don't approve of useless violence, and maybe letting it go is the mature view - but I'm an immature 161 year old, and I'd be looking for a good bat, and the right time and place. Maybe if my kids were still growing I may have had a different view, but both my boys are now in their 30's.

Letting people get away with unprovoked attacks just makes them bolder next time. My response is to stop the rot before they get the idea they can kill someone and get away with it.

Just my 2c worth.

but still a great idea for quite a few people I think ...
Well its certainly something I'd look into. I don't even know how I would start looking at job openings halfway across the world though. The internet is a wonderful thing!
