I only return a wave if the other rider does it first. I expect it from a sport bike rider most of the time, a Harley rider maybe 1/3 of the time and a Gold Wing rider none of the time. Seems like that last group rides around with a stick up their butt or something.

Yea I've noticed the gold wingers are in their own class. Don't get many waves back from them.

Working at a Honda dealership, we got plenty of Goldwing riders coming through. Many of them are pleasant and I love hearing their stories about conquering Iron Butt challenges and their Polar Bear runs, but a significant portion of them walk in like they own the place and don't even acknowledge my existence. Screw not getting a wave back while riding, some of them flat out ignore me when I simply greet them as they enter the show room.. and it ain't just because of my off-putting Asian demeanor, they do it to my coworkers as well.

Haha @ "off putting asian demeanor" haha. Honestly, I work with a few Goldwing riders on base. And they are all really friendly, the ones around this town wave almost always. I have more of an issue with the Harley guys, they tend to wave if they are alone, but if its a pack, forgetaboutit! Other sport bike riders seem to go through great lengths to wave around here lol its crazy, but I love it, its one of the reasons I started riding

i wave at everyone. you can kind of judge whether you will get a wave back by the bike and rider. some people look like they own a bike because its cool, and they dont wave, because they are too busy being cool. people who ride because they enjoy the hobby/lifestyle always wave back.

goldwingers are a mixed bag though

Yea I went out early this morning. Think I was 5 for 7 on the waves. Got dented by a wing and a gsxr1000. Obv the 1000 rider was way cool. He*was*wearing everything he couldn't think of that would look cool besides a lid gloves and jacket .

Depending on the circumstances, I try to wave when I can.
