Yes, you can do your own maintenance. Keeping track of any receipts is an excellent idea. More bullets for your gun if you should need to make a claim.

I got the full warrenty with mine because i did not want to take any chances. I bought a 2007 CBR 600RR 13months ago and topped it out today at 153mph. Its one hell of a bike.

My bike is still stock and to speed stock is 154. I do know that there are things u can do to it to get the max out of it but i will wait until it is paid off and so my warrenty does not get voided.

You can do your own oil changes. You do not have to use honda oil or filters. I use honda filters, but not honda oil. the only thing you have to make sure of, is that the oil that you are using meets honda's specs. most any oil that is not energy conserving oil will work. But make sure you double check to make sure it is the proper oil. You dont want to use an automotive oil that has friction modifiers in it. But,most motorcycle specificoils have special additives to help reduce stress of high reving engines such as motorcycles so the call is yours.

Amsoil, repsol, Mobil 1 are just a few to mention that are good oils if you dont want use factory oil.

you can save your reciepts if you want, but it really doesnt matter. the only thingit will prove is you bought the oil. it doesnt prove you used it or changed it when you said you did. there is no way to prove that unless they test the oil in the bike. Even then, as long the oil comes back as an oil that meets the standards, your ok.

you should do your oil changes at the suggested intervals.
