RE: warrenty worth it??
If you buy it you'll never use it. If you don't buy it you'll need it within the year. Kind of a gamble isn't it. think of it this way what could you do to your bike that would cost a grand to fix?I dont know unless you break it in wrong. Get full coverage somthing goes wrong hit it with your car and get a new one..lol I don't know but I bought mine used and now I've got 20,500 miles on it still running strong.

That seems really high for a 2 year warranty. I bought the 4 year warranty from Honda and it was $450. So the bike is covered for 5 years. I guess the price can vary from state to state, I'm in upstate NY and bought the bike in Vermont, but it sounds like the dealer is trying to rip you off.

That does sound high. One positive of a warranty is that if there is still one on the bike provided you ever trade it in, they give you A LOT more for the trade in. Encase you ever want to hop on a 100RR[sm=massbounce.gif]

P.S.-I'd go warranty... what was your quote for full coverage?... I got quoted for 1340 a year... i'm 21... thats a 250 deduct comp/collision

RE: warrenty worth it??
I'm on my second Honda, both have had extended warranties. I just bought a new '06 1000RR, the 5 yr extended warranty cost a total of $580, so make sure your dealer isn't jerking you around.
For me the true value in an extended warranty isn't just to cover mechanicals. It's a Honda, so mechanical failure is rare. The true value is when you go to sell it. To be honest, dealers won't give you much extra for a trade-in because you have an extended warranty, at least the ones around me wouldn't. In fact, they suggested that if I wanted my money out of an ext warranty that I call Honda and have them cancel the warranty to get a prorated refund. However, If I'm buying a used bike that has an extended warranty it tells me a lot. I'm far more likely to buy a used bike with an extended warranty than one without. So from that perspective, the extended warranty should help with resale to a private buyer if you choose to sell it at some point.
