Wanna know the real reason I love my bike?

If you think a weatherly only protects the person wearing it.....what happens if a passenger in the front isn't wearing a belt and the car gets t boned on that side? That person its going to bounce around and possibly severely hurt the driver and maybe others.

I rolled an Audi A4 once and the simple and plain truth is that if I didn't have my seat belt on I wouldn't be here. It was a 35 mph accident that destroyed the car so don't say "it can't happen to me" cause it could. But I'm not one to preach just wanted to share my experience and ideals. If you don't wanna wear it then don't, just gotta be quick enough to fool the coppers haha.

Thats a dumb reason for a ticket. Wear a seatbelt and be quite.

What is the government going to do next. You'll try shooting yourself and throw you in jail and give you a ticket haha. I do hate mirco management myself as well. I do hate when people say just do it and get over it since its just liking acting like a robot and not thinking on your own brain.

Ha no I expected it. Actually I just wanted to know other peoples thoughts on the whole manditory seatbelt law. Seems to be pretty even on both sides, which I think is kind of odd since this is a sportbike forum, and we all know that you have to be a little wreckless to ride any kind of motorcycle

I think someones sig here said something like "Helmet laws are there for those who are too dumb to protect their own brain" Something like that. Seems like the same applies for seatbelts. Always seemed like a common sense thing to me, but I guess you guys can keep "sticking it to the man" and not wear your seatbelt.

I feel kinda naked if I'm in the front seat of a moving car without a seatbelt. same goes for riding without a lid...though I'm a little more apt to doing the later on really short trips for some dumb reason

This. Pretty much exactly what I was going to say!

No, it has nothing to do with keeping me safe, the gov doesn't give a crap about that. It all has to do with money for two reasons...
1. They found that seatbelt tickets were a great source of income, so they decided to look for people not wearing it so they can make even more money.
2. If I'm not wearing my seatbelt and I go flying through the windshield and end up as a vegitable, who's gonna pay for all my medical expenses? Chances are it will be the gov, and they don't want to "waste" their money on keeping people alive.

But that's my opinion, yours may differ.
