It is funny, it is OK and even encouragedfor people to kill white Boxer puppies because they don't conform to the AKC 'standard', but Vick may go to jail. Not that I agree with either, punishments should exist for both.

http://www.boxerbuddies.org/Boxer%20...ite_boxers.htm

Thefourth paragraph states..'The problem is that many local breed clubs have not adopted this same philosophy and still have by-laws calling for the euthinization of any white offspring. '

So I guess if you are an animal lover you can kill puppies, but if you let them fight, you can't kill the seriously injured losers. Either way, people are f**ked up.
Interesting. I have heard of this but never known anyone to practice it. I have always had boxers, and when a breeder gets a white one, they will not release or register AKC papers on it, and it will not be sold until it is spayed or neutered. They make great pets as any boxer does, but are prone to a few health issues, and owners are usually informed of this and screened. I know serious gun-dog breeders that will euthenize puppies who show a less than standard drive for birds, not many, but one or two, but they have a pretty serious breeding program going and it rarely happens that they get a pup that won't be "birdy", but these dogs are going for 2K......Anyway, not disagreeing with anyone or anything, just my .02. As for Vic, what a POS, While euthenizing may or may not be wrong in a given situation, pitting animals against one another and the ensueing carnage is unspeakable, and we haven't even talked about the training regimine that goes on......Make him work Pro-Bono at an animal shelter for awhile, or how about we shock Vic or hang him, beat him when he fails to perform for the Falcons?

<I AM NOT DEFENDING VICK>

I heard earler on the News somewhere saying the Vick needs to repay SOCIETY. This is what serious confuses me when people say this exact statment. "Repay Society". How the hell does Vick need to repay society? Did he effect the greater country of America? NO. This man has no reason to repay, appoligise, do anything for ME and I highly doubt for any of you either. Society can suck my *****.
He is supposed to be a role model, and he screwed up. A lot of kids look up to him and he has the ***** to do this? He does owe society, and you can cuddle your own *****.

If OJ got off, so should Vick.
There are plenty of people that have done worse things than Vick did. If his so called friends never started snitching .....I'm not even going to say anything about that. He should be punished but not go to jail. Why are the FBI involved anyway!?!?[:'(][:'(]
I hope he can still play football! He is/was the most exciting player to watch in football.

This story is getting WAY too much press. Is this seriously the most important issue facing this country today? Not even close. Everyone wants Vick's head on a platter but when there are real crimes committed, we don't really care. How many people die because of DUIs in this country every year? Much more than the number of dogs Vick killed. Why can't we use the efforts used to destroy Vick to do something about important issues that really affect society.

^^Problem is, those stories don't get "eyeballs" which is what the media is all about. When you have one of the highest paid / most popular players on one of the most watched sports leagues in the nation charged with what he's charged with vs. some joe schmoe killing another joe schmoe ... which story do you think is going to be watched by more people? Not saying it's right, just facing reality.

yeah i know...i am just pissed about it....i have been getting emails from the ASPCA and the HSUS and they are calling for just that, donation to many abuse and humanitarian organizations so we'll see what happens...
That's what I was saying: They shouldn't have to "ask" for it, it would be much more effective if he did it on his own.

as for the double jeopardy thing....it's an interesting misconception that i too had before going to law school...double jeopary applies only in the same jurisdiction...
okay, thx for the info., didn't know that. I understand the civil trial thing but the fed & separate local court charges still doesn't make sense to me though .. he committed the same crime regardless of who is filing the charges so it still seems like DJ to me ... not saying I don't believe you, just saying it seems a bit nutty. I could understand it in certain scenarios but not this one.

i'm not one to flame, but you're an idiot!! seriously....where should i begin dissecting the dribble you just spilled out....

1) just because OJ got off...doesn't mean every criminal can (i am going to assume you were kidding here)

2) so because people have done worse things than Vick, he should just be let off scot free....that is the DUMBEST comment ever made...

3) you are actually going to blame his friends on snitching....and think that Vick is a victim because his friends and him were facing jail time...seriously....you ride the short bus here today???

4) punished but no jail time....geez....you really don't get it do you...it was FEDERAL CRIME....it violated interstate commerce....so just because YOU think it's not a big deal...he shouldn't get jail time...well i think if someone killed someone in your family it wouldn't be a big deal...so let him off....(see how stupid that sounds).....

I hope he can still play football! He is/was the most exciting player to watch in football.
YOU are what's wrong with today society....you can overlook a malicious hateful crime....because he plays sports....do you have a mind of your own...do you know how to think....does your mommy and daddy tell you what's right and wrong...you let the media influence you....you are a pathetic waste of space....you're the idiot that cheers for someone like Vick after he slams dogs into a bloody pulp because he can THROW a BALL!!! how stupid and ignorant are you....i mean seriously.....you think because he plays sports he can get away with anything.....what's next murder.....yeah he killed that guy....but he had 2000 yds passing last year....we'll let it slide....you are seriously just f***ed up beyond all belief....i can't believe i even wasted my time responding to you....

to everyone else who knows how i post...i don't normally get like this...but c'mon.....

TheX back me up on this...i know you can tear him apart....[8D]

ugh...the crap i have to respond to today (i guess i don't have to, but i feel obligated to for some reason today)...

just because YOU feel some way doesn't mean you're right...just like my opinion does mean i am right...but blanket comments like yours **** me off.....YOU think it's getting "WAY too much press".....do you know this is a HUGE problem in the US....you may not think the killing of dogs is important....but the people involved in this organized crime are bad bad people....there are massive amounts of studies that show animal abuse...especially animal abuse on this level, is a pre-curser to violence against people...and not just a little hitting....many animal abusers escalate to beating and even killing people....the logic behind this is that a person that can kill an animal without any remorse will have no problem doing this against a person...the violence is completely transparent....so whether you think so are not....dog-fighting is a huge problem that leads to other issues....you may never have heard about it....but that doesn't make it any less real or dangerous...not to mention many of the pitbull attacks are by dogs trained to either kill as guard dogs (just as bad in my opinion) or are fighting dogs that got loose or where "taken care of" but lived.....

you may not think this is important to society, but others may....for one...this is a direct correlation to the apathy society is falling into...crap like this needs to be addressed....and you think we are DESTROYING VICK....my god man....what is wrong with all you losers....every one is acting like Vick is some angel who is a victim....he beat, drowned, shot dogs because they wouldn't kill another dog.....think about that...this guy is heartless....think about what it would take for you to take a dog and beat it til it was dead and bloody....or take a gun and shoot a dog in the head because it did sit when you told it to....now tell yourself to do that MULTIPLE times....can't.....yeah.....Vick did....and would have done again and again if not caught....

on a side note...his dad said that this was "Vick's thing" before even the NFL...this guy is not a victim to having money or falling into it....this guy has been a bastard from day one...so stop defending him....stop acting like Vick is being persecuted....

VICK---
KILLED DOGS
MADE DOGS FIGHT FOR HIS OWN ENJOYMENT
LIED TO THE NFL HIS TEAM THE PRESS
BANKROLLED ALL THE FIGHTING
STARTED A KENNEL TO BREED DOGS TO DIE AND FIGHT

think people....this is not a victim...he choose this and did so willingly and would have kept doing it if given the opportunity....

one of the reason it gets so much press is because he has availed himself of the public, therefore he gets put on trial before the public....seems fair to me....should joe schmoo get in trouble, yes....but joe schmoo isn't selling shoes, jerseys, having kids look up to him....Vick is...he used the money from the clothes and shoes we bought to fight dogs.....hang him out to dry....you have to look at why he's being put up like this....it isn't a random person being picked on...this guy uses the media for his own uses....now it's biting him in the ***...you can't have it as a one way street....

as for the asking for it...you're right they shouldn't have to....but i don't care who asks long as he pays....although i feel like the money is tainted...but hopefully it will do some good....

as for the DJ...yeah it's an interesting area of the law...read up on it, it's wierd how it works out but that is the law...

I agree with you for the most part but don't think it necessarily applied to this case. This would've been covered out the wazu no matter what Vick did after the charges where filed. Once he was facing real jail time it was "go" time for the media. The only thing he could've possibly done to lessen the degree of scrutiny (and even then it would have very little effect) was if he had admitted to it right off the bat instead of trying to deny it. In some of the business courses that covered journalism they covered a bit of this phenomena. There's no set formula for what makes one story take off and another quickly dissipate .. look back at some recent heavily covered cases for any duration and you'll see there's really no rhyme or reason other than the "train wreck" (don't want to see it but can't look away like the Lacey Peterson case) or "mystery" (waiting to see what really happened like the Natalie Holloway case) otherwise it's just guess work as to "what sells" for the media.
