I had a really nasty moment at the end of last summer - very windy day, gusting pretty strongly. I was in a right hand bend, leaning well over, and got hit by a gust of wind from the left - laid the bloody bike flat, straight into the oncoming lane !!
Mate, I've never been so scared - testament to the bike and the good tyres, and there were no cars coming the other way.....(angel on my shoulder....?)
I'm a lot more careful on windy days after that......

A lot of guys take the wind a bit too casually I think... It can be a killer for sure ..
( and it arms the bloody pine cones for a sneak attack )
I was at about a 10-15 deg angle for bloody near 20 klms this morning on the freeway ...
scary **** !![:-]
Mind you it could have been worse as you put it mate "testament to the bike and the good tyres"
our old girls have the little extra weight and the longggg wheelbase to handle the wind a little better than most sport bikes I recon ...
but I am still a bit sketchy when riding in it

ahahah that reminds me off a homemade firecracker me and my friend made, hahah my buddy lit it and i swear to you it chased him donw the st. he turned left it turned right behind him, he turned right it went right , he jumped on the curb and pluged his ears and it blow up right below him i swear it was like a cartoon.

Squirrels like to play with me the same way, except they are alive. I thought i ran one over the other day..like it was that close, it must have kissed my wheels, or i ran over his tail, because he was right under my bike, but i look back and he runs to the side of the road...
dam overgrown rats[:@]
but they are alive....so no UFO's..or UBO's(unexplainable bouncing objects)
