There's alot of people who just don't pay attention to us. Glad you were though. I had a guy today pull right out in front of me from a parking spot on the side of the street. I was only about 15 ft. from him if that when he did it. I don't think he even looked for anyone, that's why i run with my brights on during the day so they don't have an excuse. Some dumb-*** little gang banging wanna-be just about took me out. Thats why we have to pay x-tra attention guys! Be Safe out there!

I was riding with a friend's friend one day and they were going on myspace on their browser on the phone while driving. I made them pull over and let me out. Honestly we need some laws for those things. I only receive calls while driving, and usually cut conversations very short. Ever tried to count the number of people on their phones on the road? I've tried it before but gave up when I noticed that 2/3 of the drivers I saw had phones to their ears. Do people wait to make calls when they're in the car since it's a great time to multitask or what? I hardly spend an hour of total time on the phone a day unless my brother in the military calls.

 

kind of the same thing happened to my wife the other day. There were about 6 of us riding, she was in the back, and the two lane road was ending into a one lane. we are all in the right hand lane... as we are supposed to be, but we all merged over as the road was ending.... this douchebag was right along side of her.. she had to acelerate and she actually passed me just so she didnt go off the road.. I turn around and there is a truck right on me... like maybe 2 feet behind... No cellphone.. just a real jerk. The funny thing was, he fell way behind us.. we didnt increase speed.. so he was just being a total jerk. Its not like he was in a hurry..

If anything had happened to my wife... this guy would serioulsy be in the hospital... I am a pretty even tempered person... but when someone I love gets hurt over someone elses stupidity, they are going to be hurting too.

but I agree with the cellphones.. I've had a ton of issues with people on em.

 

This idea of people not caring about motorcycles is not uncommon even out in the country.

My wife and I were traveling down the road at 35 and slowing up for the left onto our road. This old guy, his wife, and small child were in the acura suv. After I turn onto our road, I look back only to see him like 10 feet back. I sped up to 35 (road limit) and noticed that he started to pass me to hurry up and turn left into his driveway about 100 feet further up the road. Kids ride their bikes, people walk their pets, etc... I was so grateful that my wife didn't notice anything going on until the guy started going around us.

Although it sounds hooliganish, had my wife not been with me, I would have reacted differently.

It is illegal to talk or text on cell phone here in NY, but where I live, there are so few police, people do it constantly.
