Default Tomorrow: Back to Work

So my long vacation is over. Tomorrow is Day 1 of my career with Verizon. Took a test drive out to the training site I report to @7am tomorrow. Looks like they're serious about training us to climb poles.

During my time off I got absolutely nothing done. Haven't even come close to finishing the main quest in Skyrim, though I've restarted twice (once by accident while cleaning up files). Ororo needs to be winterized but the days are funky, with some being nice riding weather. Hopefully one day next week I'll get off and it'll be warm enough to wash and wax her before covering her up for the winter.

Oh yeah, Comcast finally got around to notifying their benefits vendor (Fidelity) that I was no longer an employee. It only took 3 weeks and 6 calls to HR too. And it only took 1 call to Fidelity to liquidate my company stock and begin talking options for my 401k. $1.5k of stock ain't a lot of money but it's enough to get Yuen a nice Xmas gift (aka jewelry with real jewels in it)...

Or maybe the Taurus 840C and a new exhaust for me... Havent decided yet. Though she did buy me a RC helicopter for Xmas.

have fun training man. tell us how it went tomorrow.

i just winterized violet today. dodnt wash her, but took all the plastics off so i can do it at home. ( hate the cold) plus it gives me a nice access to clean the engine and all the cracks i can get into. Its a sad day for me but it had to be done.

Just a cheap (relatively speaking) 3.5 channel to start with. I wanted the real ones with 7 channels and able to do acrobatics. But (strangely) Yuen wisely suggested to start with this. Wisely because I can't even keep it hovering stably in the living room for more that 5 seconds or so.

As for work... holy chit! 1st off Verizon is apparently making a major push here in Philly. Hiring 92 new techs, most of whom seem to be for 1 office. And they're hiring on one thing only it seems: potential. One of the guys in my training class worked for them before... sorta. Back in 1966 when they were still Bell
