Maybe things are different now? Or I am remembering wrong. When did you have your surgery?

There is something to be said for being able to wake up and open your eyes and just see. I haven't been able to do that for almost 20 years. I am practically blind (-7.5 in both eyes). Corrected I am 20/15 or so. I'd like to see 20/10 when I get LASIK, which IIRC is pretty much the best you can do.

Last October. Lasik is the newest proceedure available, but others have been around for longer (PRK being the most notable). PRK is more trusted, but has a FAR longer healing time (about a year). There's another one the name of which I can't remember, where they use radio waves to tighten the muscles around your eyes. This is mainly used for older patients to assist with reading.

I was -2 /+2 for 15 years, and the day after surgery I was already at 20/15, and it was GREAT. Waking up the next morning, and being able to pick out individual leaves on the tree in my front yard, see bits of gravel in the driveway across the street. I felt like Spider Man in the first movie when he wakes up and looks in the mirror. I spent MONTHS just driving around and looking at inane stuff.

Optometry can't fix every vision problem and can't explain some phenomenon. Like why a person that has had cataracts and their lenses in their eye can still focus on things near them.

Vision can be healed naturally with good habits, I encourage you to pick up the book Relearning to See by Thomas Quackenbush. It is a great read and has improved many people's vision to normal(20/20), even from 20/200.

That's an excellent point as well. Sounds like snake oil, but I can vouch for it. I used the EyeQ software a few years back as a "why not" effort, and I did see ntoicable improvement, but nothing miraculous.

i got hot anti-freeze fumes in my eyes a few yrs back. melted my contacts to my eyes. ripped my corneas down to the 3rd layer. spent a month at wills eye hospital getting needle injections etc. was told i'd nvr see again. and i only wear glasses for long distance to see detail. im lookin into Rx glasses that are like saftey glasses for riding and shooting. already have Rx sunglasses.

and i see better in darkness then the average person, test proven. show the slightest bit of light in pitch dark and im screwed. thats why i have the hardest time driving at night. oncoming headlights kill me.

ill take that over being blind.
