If I feel the phone vibrate I might pull over in case it's my wife or kids with something urgent. But I can't imagine getting the phone out, opening it, reading the message, replying, all with gloves on, while operating a motorcycle. Nor can I imagine why I'd want to.

Got off easy for a thread like what??? I was just curious. What you think people are just gonna start texting just because this thread? Everybody here is grown up and knows that its dangerous and stupid. What am i gonna get mt account deleted for simple curiosity? Id hope not. Im not trying to come off as a dick. I just dont want to be considered less of a rider because ive done it a couple of times.

I think it just distracts you and the brain. Like you may think if you text real quick and slip it back in your pocket it'll be fine, but I think the mind lingers on the text or response. Like asking someone a serious question or something. So you could be riding thinking about the response (daydreaming) and BAM! - Instant organ donor

you have to be a real dumb *** to text and ride a the same time. I mean look at the idiot that was driving that train and texting. He wrecked it and he was just holding to that thing.

No has the right to say that someone is less of a rider... Who chooses these standards? Did god write it down on a peice of paper and send it down? I mean cmon.. If anything, the guy sitting in front of a computer looking for a reason to accuse someone of being less of a rider, is less of a rider.

Maybe not God ... but 77% of those voting seem to think it makes you a less safe rider. Hey, you wanted numbers -- I got you numbers
