Every time i've ever been to a dealer (and its all the time i can't stay out of them) they rape my with help. I get asked if i need any help i say no and then then i walk ten feet and a guy will jump out from the woodwork and ask me again. They just love to bother me when i just want to look around. I'm surprised you have the opposite happen to you.

Bah - nothing to do with Honda man, people are just people. People are dicks. People are motviated by money and when people see people with apparent money, they flock to them. It's just people.

I have established an awesome relationship at my Honda dealer. Parts guy, Tom, knows my full name and address. Always gets me parts $20 less than I can find on the internet... try doing that at a "stealership." He always calls me when my stuff comes in and never acts like he has something better to do... even when I know he does.

Oh yeah, I ride an 'ol F3. She may be purdy, but they're not making money off of me.

People are in the habit of finding the best deal, best deal best deal. I'll pay $20 more to KNOW my stuff will be where it's supposed to be when it's supposed to be there. There is nothing quite like having a living, breathing brick and mortor shop that welcomes your company and your business.

My advice would be to stop shopping around. Pick someplace and get to know the people. I can guarantee that when I do finally buy a new bike, I'll be treated like a gentleman as soon as I walk in the door... and not just because I'm dropping money either.

It sounds like you caught them on a bad day. People always try and help separate me from my money, I find buying vehicles to beone of the worst ways to spend my time, I hate the process.

If you are serious about the new RRs, try and find someone on the board that is a salesman and give them your business (if locations are close enough). BTW I like the pearl white.

Don't know about the getting to know the guys in the dealership. I've bought 9 bikes from the same place over the years (since 1980 till 97) Never saw the same sales guy anytime I went back. Knew the owner, but he was business as usual type of guy, so being on a 1st name basis meant S. F. A to him. The reason I'm on a Honda now was due to his main sales guy trying to go the rounds with me for the trade (which turned out the best thing anyway) Cos I went else where. Wot I have found though, go to a dealer that has good competition from other bike dealers in the area, that seems to make a difference. Also, nothing gets up a dealers nose more, is for you to ring, say Honda, and tell them the reason your riding a new Yammie was because their local dealer couldn't be bothered trying to sell you one on their bikes.

well i found a new dealer to go to yesterday any way. the people in side were real nice and every one enw what they were talking about and the shop was so clean you could eat off the floor. it wasnt real big but he still had good prices.

i decided tostick with the f4i. i got a call from the bank yesterday saying every thing was good to go and i went to the dealer and sat on the bike and i just like the way the f4i feels much better. there were a few other things i didnt like. i figured if i held off for a year and saved up the noney and decided i still wanted it i would be fine. but i need a lot of servicing on my bike this summer valves tires so im going to go to this new dealer. odd part to me was that out of all the dealers he was probly the smallest and yet had the best price by 200 bucks
