Default Strange Xbox connection symptom

I got new Onkyo receiver and I connect my computer, cable and TV to it. When I got Xbox, I connected that also. They are all by HDMI and power plug are all individually plugged into power strip. When I turn off Xbox, the receiver also turns off. And I cannot turn it back on if Xbox is turned off. Did I do something wrong in initial set up on Xbox? I know hardwares are all connected right.

Check your settings in the Receiver and X-Box. Make sure the HDMI control is turned off on the receiver and X-Box

I think it was Monster Power stripe. After plugging in the receiver power code into the "receiver" labeled plug, it worked. But I will check on that too. Thanks

just to throw my two cents in: the xbox also has a blue tooth built in and a infrared sensor for a remote...

You may have fixed it by "re-settting" the receiver by removing the power. HDMI has always had issues. It has gotten better, but there are still issues. I installed a Sharp 70" with a Sharp 3D blu-ray (I have never installed before), and there are isssues with a HDMI cat5 extender with small gauge conductors. Some components can be very finicky.
