hey guys I'm in need of some help. my stator went out and I'm in the process of replacing it with a new one. I have the old one out of the case and I can't find where the plug runs too exactly. I followed it as far as I could and it looks like it's up like right under where my seat and gas tank meet. I took my seat off and still couldn't get to it. has anyone done this? or know exactly where it's at and an easy way to get to it? please help I really wanna ride!!

 

You should be able to disconnect the wire from the stator. Then the wire should just slide out of the case cover. Then you can replace the stator. Are you wanting to change the wire too?

 

I think the wire and the stator are one piece. I'll go check but the new stator I got has the wire attached to it. I just assumed it was all one piece. if the wire can be disconnected from the stator then that'll make my life easier but if not then yes I must replace the stator and the wire.

 

there is a plastic pice next to your battery that you have to pull out. it has clip ons on it and its a pain but its where all the wireing comes together there. be carefull i just replaced mine and after about 5k miles it burned threw the wiring at the connector.. i ended up cutting the connectors off and just soldering the wires together.. so you might want to put some of that electrical spray in the connector or somthing..
