I personally haven't tried this gear out. If you go to the site check out the motorcycle gear. I put it up for the people in the hotter climates.

The painters at our shop use these since its production and the heats cranked up, they soak em in a container in the fridge, say they are great until they loose the chill and then are just akward and uncomfortable, they each run 2 of em so they can have one chilling while the other is being worn

 

I remember reading about a guy trying to set records for mpg in a car, which meant running no AC. He worked in a nuclear power plant and had an "ice vest".

I am not in what most would call one of the "warmer" climates... but even with how hot Ohio gets I hate it. I really dislike heat with a passion. Although I'd dislike rash on my back even more.
